‘Helping CED areas make a difference’

What is CED?

Community Economic Development (CED) has six main objectives:

  1. Support the involvement and participation of local community organisations
  2. Promote and support social entrepreneurship
  3. To educate communities so they know how to generate money
  4. Support community groups to undertake project development activities to contribute to sustainable community development
  5. Enable local communities and excluded groups to develop
  6. Environmental Improvements

How can the CED Officer assist YOU?

If you are a community group/ organisation, local business, have an idea to start up a new group, etc the CED Officer can help. Provision provided:

  • How to write a constitution
  • Funding issues
  • Training
  • Management Committee training
  • How to establish a new group
  • Advice on Disclosure checks
  • How to become a charity
  • Community projects
  • Economic issues: e.g. Credit Unions
  • Community and personal development
  • Improving community/ public environments
